These terms are an agreement between you and 012 Agency Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15318856), trading as Are You About (“we”, “us”). They apply whenever you use areyouabout.com or any of our apps and features. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service. Our Privacy Policy forms part of these terms.
You must be at least 16 to have an account. Many listings, events and offers are restricted to over-18s, and venues and organisers may require ID at the door. You're responsible for making sure you meet the age and entry conditions for anything you book or attend.
Keep your login details secure and don't share your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access to it.
Usernames are unique and first-come, first-served. We may reclaim usernames that impersonate someone, infringe a trade mark, are offensive, or are used to mislead. Verified or official badges are granted at our discretion and can be removed.
You can create plans, invite people by link, WhatsApp, SMS or email, and form groups. Only invite people who would want to hear from you — sending unwanted invitations or scraping contacts is not allowed. When you share a plan link, anyone with that link can see the plan and RSVP, so treat links accordingly.
Group admins can manage members, approve join requests and remove content in their group. We may step in where a group breaches these terms.
Don't use Are You About to:
You can report or block anyone from their profile or a plan. We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or delete accounts that breach these rules, and we may do so without notice where there's a risk to others.
You keep ownership of the photos, text and plans you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the service — for example showing your plan to people you invited, or a group photo in that group's recap. You confirm you have the right to share anything you upload, including permission from people in photos.
Venue details, opening hours, popular times, events, prices and recommendations come from a mix of partners, public sources, venue owners and automated systems, and are provided “as is”. Always check details directly with the venue or organiser before you travel. Some links take you to third-party services such as booking partners, ticket partners or ride-hailing apps, and those are governed by the third party's own terms. Some partner links are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Where you buy a ticket through Are You About, the event is run and sold by the organiser, not by us. We act as the organiser's agent to take payment and issue tickets. Your contract for attending the event is with the organiser, and their event terms and entry conditions apply alongside ours.
Offers, discounts and loyalty rewards are provided by the venue, not by us. The venue sets the conditions, availability and expiry, and can withdraw an offer. Stamps and rewards have no cash value and can't be transferred or exchanged. If a venue closes or leaves the platform, unredeemed stamps may lapse.
About+ and venue or promoter subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis at the price shown when you subscribe, until you cancel. Cancel any time from your settings — you keep access until the end of the paid period, and we don't refund part-periods unless the law requires it. We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
About+ uses AI to draft plans and suggestions. Output can be wrong, out of date or unsuitable — check the details before you rely on it. Don't submit other people's personal information into About+ without their permission. Fair-use limits apply, and we may throttle or suspend abusive usage.
We send service messages about your plans, tickets and account by email, in-app notification and — if you verify a number and opt in — WhatsApp or SMS. Standard carrier charges may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of that channel, or manage channels in your notification settings. Some messages, such as security codes and ticket confirmations, are essential to the service and can't be turned off.
If you list or sell events on Are You About, you additionally agree that:
Claiming a venue means you confirm you're authorised to represent it. Keep your details, hours, offers and imagery accurate and up to date, and make sure you own or are licensed to use any photos you upload. Insights and analytics we provide are estimates for guidance only. Paid venue packages are subscriptions and are covered by section 9. We may suspend a claim if we can't verify it or receive credible complaints.
Are You About helps you meet up with people and go out — it doesn't vet users, venues or events, and it isn't a safety service. Use your judgement, tell someone where you're going, and follow the safety guidance in our help centre. In an emergency, contact the emergency services.
We're building fast, so features may change, break or be withdrawn, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may carry out maintenance or update features without notice. Where a change materially reduces a paid subscription's value, you can cancel and we'll refund the unused portion.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything else that can't be limited by law. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Otherwise, we're not liable for events not going ahead, venues closing, inaccurate third-party information, the conduct of other users, organisers or venues, or for indirect or consequential loss. Where we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the previous 12 months or £100. Business users (organisers and venues) additionally agree we're not liable for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill or data.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Account. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, and we'll normally tell you why. Tickets already issued for future events remain valid unless they were obtained fraudulently.
We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll change the date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the UK or the EEA, you keep the protection of your local mandatory laws.
