The brief
Seven Dials is where Brighton eats when it is being serious. A handful of streets radiating off one roundabout, holding more genuinely good kitchens than anywhere else in the city, and almost no passing trade to spoil them.
Where to eat
The Little Fish Market for the tasting menu that locals guard jealously — book two weeks out. Hellenic Bakery for the spinach pie you eat on the pavement. A neighbourhood Italian for the Tuesday you cannot be bothered.
Where to drink
Wine shops that pour by the glass, one very good corner pub, and the walk down to the station for a nightcap if the evening insists.

Everything here fills with people who live within four streets. Book, or eat at six.
