The London Late-Night Eats Map

Where to eat after midnight, mapped. From the 24-hour bagel to the 2am dim sum.

By About Town, London

The brief

London's late-night reputation is unfair but not baseless. The trick is knowing which neighbourhoods keep cooking after midnight, because the answer changes by postcode.

Soho, after midnight

Homies on Donkeys for tacos. Yard Sale for a slice. Bar Italia for coffee and a sandwich at an hour when nowhere else will admit to being open. Berwick Street and Rupert Street are where the kitchens hold out longest.

Dalston and Kingsland Road

The most reliable late food in the city. Umut 2000 and the Turkish grills along Kingsland Road will feed you properly at two in the morning with no drama.

Peckham and Brixton

Rye Lane and Coldharbour Lane after the venues empty: fried chicken, patties, a bag of something on the night bus. Mother Flipper and the Brixton market kitchens for the earlier end of late.

Camden

Post-gig, walking distance from KOKO, Electric Ballroom and the Roundhouse: burgers, noodles, and one kebab shop everyone in NW1 has a strong opinion about.

One rule

Follow the taxi drivers, not the queue. They know which kitchen is actually still cooking rather than just still open.
